Yi Kang is a PhD student in the Movement Science program within the Department of Physical Therapy. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2024 and holds a degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Mathematics. Yi has contributed to research on biomechanics and lower back pain, as well as on lifestyle factors, such as circadian rhythm dysregulation and colorectal cancer risk. Her current PhD research focuses on tendon homeostasis and metabolism, with plans to integrate transcriptomics to understand the underlying mechanisms better and inform clinical practice. Yi is also passionate about applying extensive dataset analysis to advance tendon research. With a clinical background, she values interdisciplinary collaboration to drive meaningful improvements in patient care and research.
