Josep Campoy is a dual-degree Master of Architecture and Master of Urban Design student at WashU. Originally from Cusco, Peru, he earned his undergraduate degree in architecture in the United States, where he developed a deep passion for architecture as a cultural, social, and material practice. Prior to graduate study, Josep contributed to large-scale architectural projects and has recently expanded his practice to include interior renovation, furniture design, and ceramic applications in his native Peru. His work explores the intersection of identity, craft, and place. While architecture remains at the heart of his work, Josep is also interested in urban design as a means to critically examine informality and spatial inequality. He is interested in how architectural thinking can operate across scales to support more inclusive and grounded approaches to urban development in Latin America. At WashU, he seeks to strengthen his ability to design spaces that are both technically rigorous and socially responsive.
