Rasheda Pippens is a PhD student in Nursing Science. She is a graduate of University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Following graduation, she worked as a nurse in various inpatient settings, as an adjunct faculty member, and in outpatient office/clinics. She became passionate about Reproductive and Maternal Health & went on to attend Goldfarb School of Nursing & received her Master of Science in Nursing. Rasheda will enhance nursing science and practice examining trauma responses, uncover unconscious implicit biases, and explore structures within hospital systems that support bias against black women.
