Caitlin Johnson is a Computer Science PhD student in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science in 2025 from Amherst College, where she began researching machine learning with a focus on deep learning for voice cloning and 2D/3D computer vision, primarily using convolutional neural network models. In Summer 2024, she conducted research in Professor Yevgeniy Vorobeychik’s lab at WashU, integrating CNN-based vision models with reinforcement learning to train autonomous driving systems. During her undergraduate years, Caitlin also served as a teaching assistant in Economics, Computer Science, and Mathematics courses at Amherst. She looks forward to serving as an assistant in instruction at WashU and is excited to explore new areas of Computer Science with real-world applications.
