Tongyao Jiang (she/her) is a PhD student in the accounting department at Olin Business School. She previously completed her master’s degree at Columbia University and worked as a research analyst at financial institutions and NGOs. Her research interests include the effects of accounting information on capital markets, labor economics, municipal finance, and ESG issues. Tongyao is passionate about using data-driven methods to understand how accounting and policy intersect to shape financial and economic outcomes. She aims to pursue a research-oriented academic career that contributes to both scholarly understanding and real-world impact. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, origami, reading, playing the piano, and water-growing flowers and vegetables.
