Phuc Nguyen is a PhD student in Computational and Systems Biology in the Department of Genetics, School of Medicine. Previously, he obtained his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering, with a minor in Computer Science, from the University of Cincinnati. His research interests are in developing machine learning methods to study gene regulation and epigenetics in neurobiology, with the goal of better understanding mechanisms of neurodevelopment and neurodegenerative diseases. When not doing science, he likes playing different racket sports, board games, and guessing countries from Google Street views.
