Ahema Odeng-Otu is an Art student pursuing the Masters of Fine Arts in
Illustration and Visual Culture. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin
Madison with a Bachelors of Science in Art and a certificate in Graphic
Design. She is interested in exploring how wisdom is expressed in visual art.
Her approach is to use proximity to Ghanaian expression as a starting point
for understanding creative thinking more broadly. She focuses on graphic
design, illustration, and comics using primarily watercolor, acrylic, and ink. Her
range of influences is broad, including anonymous Ghanaian woodworkers,
William Blake, JC Leyedecker, and Yoshitaka Amano, to name a few.
