Daniel Cher is a PhD student in the Computational Data Sciences program housed in the McKelvey School of Engineering. He works within the Multimodal Vision Research Laboratory led by Pr. Nathan Jacobs. Prior to the PhD, he worked as a Data Scientist for six years tackling geospatial problems focusing on using machine learning to quantify the risk of where people live and drive. During that time, he achieved his Masters of Science in Data Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. His current research explores how computer vision and multimodal learning can be applied to geospatial and biodiversity problems. Integrating aerial, and ground-level data to improve how we model and understand the world around us.
