Mechanical Engineering | Entering Year: 2024

A PhD student in Mechanical Engineering, Savannah hopes to use engineering principles to gain a deeper understanding of pregnancy-related biomechanical changes in uterine tissue. After graduating from Scripps College in 2021 with a BA in Biophysics, she continued her education at WashU as a member of the Dual-Degree Engineering Program, where she earned a BS and MS in Biomedical Engineering in 2024. During her tenure, she helped welcome first year dual degree students as a Dual Degree Ambassador while also serving as a member of the Women & Engineering Leadership Society, Engineers without Borders, and the women’s rowing team. Savannah is also a co-founder of the Fistula Fighters, a non-profit organization focused on developing a low-cost device to help women living in developing countries suffering from obstetric vesicovaginal fistulas. In her free time, Savannah enjoys hiking, camping, baking, running, and reading in the sun.
