Zach Ormiston is a PhD student in the Immunology PhD program housed within the Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences. He graduated from the College of William & Mary in 2024
with a degree in Biology, and went on to do two years of postbaccalaureate training at the
National Institutes of Health where he studied the rare immunodeficiency disease WHIM
Syndrome. He had the opportunity to author two publications on WHIM Syndrome during this
time and has presented his work on this topic at various conferences, consortiums and interest groups both national and international. Zach is passionate about innate immunity and
mechanisms of phagocyte migration and intends to pursue research on those topics during his PhD.
